Of course, more snow here in Ohio. No practice for Juggernauts tomorrow :( Instead I'm actually going out tomorrow with my girlfriend and we're going to go over how to effectively use a bolt-action in different scenarios. Now that my main gun of choice is the CA8-2, she's going to take over the L96 come practice time. She used it last practice and wasn't bad with it, she's just very inexperienced and a bolt-action isn't always the best gun to use when inexperienced. Luckily she has a little tom-boy in her, and she's very athletic, aggressive, and not afraid to take a shot. In fact, she let me shoot her with the L96 from about 70 feet just so she could see what kind of pain we were talking about so much within the team.

Anyway, enough about that. Tomorrow I'll be going over the basics, using the scope to complete various tasks, the role of a sniper, tactics, and of course actual target practice. She's very good with a rifle, as she's been brought up in a family that would regularly take her to rifle competitions, so she already has some experience under her belt. Besides, this is the least I could do, considering she spent much of today designing and sewing a small pouch to carry a large type battery under the handguard. She designed it so it doesn't intefere with the bipod, it's small enough to not be distracting or even noticeable, it looks great, sticks using industrial strength velcro (looks surprisingly good), and it'll finally allow me to use a large-type battery. I couldn't have asked for anything better. I plan on purchasing a 9.6v 3600 mah Intellect battery to fit in it. Needless to say, I'm very excited to see how that'll improve my rof and consistency of shots :) Although I'm still remaining a sniper, and will rely on making every shot count, in the case where I'm being over-run, knowing that I can switch my rifle into full-auto will be very nice.

Found some cool deals I thought I'd share. No real updates to the blog because I haven't played lately due to the weather, but I do want to share these few things with you all.

WELL MB05 AWM APS2:
Firing at 500 fps, supposed effective range of 200-250 feet, and a beautiful body, it's worth checking out:

Revision Bullet Ant Goggles:
They seem perfect for the sniper role. Low profile (for scope usage), black, solid materials.

I also wanted to mention that I'm almost done completing my airsoft collection!

Things I still need:
G&G Goggle fan
Vest
BBs (.25, .20)
Battery (9.6v 3600 mah)
Magazine for WE hi-capa

I finally got out to play again with the team, despite my recent illness. I was out playing in the 45 degree  weather with a temperature and a terribly sore throat, but I wasn't going to let it keep me from playing. My team had a good turnout today, ten of us. We played on our usual field (about 10 acres worth of woods, I'd say), and played in two teams of five. It made for some very interesting games, and my SL8 worked great. I let my girlfriend use the L96, and she did very well for going up against a lot of AEG users. In my opinion, to be effective with a bolt-action, you have to play smarter and better than your opponents. This is because AEGs typically have a similar range as your gun, they're just slightly less accurate. This requires the shooter to make precise shots and remain hidden and calm at all times. My girlfriend did that well. On games our team lost, she was always the last one out - and that's not because she was simply hiding and not fighting the whole time.

Anyway, enough about that. Back to my performance - it is my blog, anyway. :) I had a great day of airsofting. I was averaging 1-2 kills a game, and except for a few embarrassing games, I was staying alive till the end of each game. I would say my gun is fairly accurate up to about 160-180 feet if it's not too windy out. Say what you want about electric sniper rifles, I love mine :)

That reminds me, I took some video this past weekend of me shooting targets at various distances - up to 150'. I was surprised at the results. I'll post them soon :)
